We've all been there, having a breakout come in just before the weekend or noticing those new wrinkle lines for the first time, frustrating — isn't it?

It seems with so many products out there, that you'd be able to find solutions that actually work to deal with these annoying issues... but if you're like most woman you know that's just not the case for our skin.

The worst part is we can never be sure what's actually in these creams and moisturizers and I don't know about you, but were looking for real natural solutions.

What many of us don't know is that there is actually a true natural solution that has 1000's of world leading health experts in approval of the wonderful benefits it has on our skin.

It's called Red Light TherapyThis non-invasive therapy has been proven by experts around the world to reduce breakouts, tighten skin, eliminate wrinkles, and heal scars — all from just light.

Let us explain.

Red Light Therapy For Your Skin

Banner

Red Light Therapy (RLT) is a treatment that delivers concentrated wavelengths of natural light into your skin.

It’s absorbed by the mitochondria in your cells which increases collagen and elastin production, along with improving overall blood circulation in the skin. [1][2]

Most of you would know that collagen and elastin are directly responsible for keeping your skin healthy, glowing, and wrinkle free!

Simply put, RLT is proven to stimulate our skin cells like nothing else that is available on the market.

Our Apollo devices even stimulate skin where the cells have slowed down for example with scarring and wrinkles. 🤯

When red light in specific wavelengths is absorbed by our bodies it's actually being directly consumed by the mitochondria which are known as the 'powerhouse' of our cells.

Their core function is producing energy in our body which allows us to heal and rejuvenate.

So with RLT you are actually speeding up the process of healing your skin, reducing inflammation, fading stretch marks, repairing sun damage, refining wrinkles, and literally brightening your skin complexion. [3]

How Red Light Actually Works For Your Skin

Since this treatment is done in a non-invasive manner it's been proven by 1000's of studies from around the world, there is little to no side effects of using it on a regular basis.

There are two core ways that RLT works for the natural healing of your skin:

1.) Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Red Light Therapy has been proven time and time again to reduce inflammatory cells in the body.

When cells become inflamed the light itself is up-regulating anti-oxidant defenses which over time decreases overall inflammation in the affected cells.

The best part? This works the same in our joints, brain, abdominal fat, wounds, lungs, and more! [4] Meaning you can not only use our Apollo devices for skin but any pain in your body!

2.) Increases Collagen and Elastin Production (Like Nothing Else Does)

We've all been pitched supplements and products that supposedly raise your collagen levels but... do they really work?

Now to clarify, collagen of the main proteins in our body are used for keeping our skin looking vibrant and alive, along with the health of our bones.

With Red Light Therapy, there's some huge advantages in using it versus other methods to boost collagen production for better looking skin:

  • Naturally occurring — with RLT treatments, you aren't supplying your body with collagen but rather allowing your body to create it on it's own when stimulated. Keeping your body working and not dependent on outside supplements
  • Targeted treatment — When you take collagen products, it's not like you're pointing it in the direction of where you want healthier skin. So how does it know where to supply more collagen? With RLT you choose where to treat your skin and for how long, leaving the guessing games out of the picture and placing you in control.

Here's the Science

Light therapy has been known to increase collagen production since 1987!

In a popular study where 300 patients got short red light therapy treatments, over 90% of them reported "softening of skin texture and a reduction in roughness and fine lines ranging from subtle changes to a significant reduction." [6]

Another study with 136 participants, 113 of them were exposed to RLT twice a week for 30 weeks, and 23 individuals acted as the control group.

After the end of the treatment periods the results were based on blinded evaluations of clinical photography, ultra sonographic collagen density measurements, computerized digital profilometry, and an assessment of patient satisfaction.

They found "the treated subjects experienced significantly improved skin complexion and skin feeling, profilometrically assessed skin roughness, and ultrasonographically measured collagen density. The blinded clinical evaluation of photographs confirmed significant improvement in the intervention groups compared with the control." [8]

Skin Conditions Red Light Therapy Can Help With

With so many studies completed on the benefits of Red Light Therapy, it can be overwhelming to understand which areas it can best serve your specific health and wellness goals.

While it's been popularized around the world because of it's anti-aging properties, Red light therapy has shown significant signs of healing several other skin conditions most of us are currently dealing with:

(Click these to learn more...)

Acne Breakouts (Proven Better Then Salicylic Acid)
This one shocked us. In 2016 a study was done to compare a common ingredient in the majority of acne products, salicylic acid, against Red Light Therapy.

The results?

Although both methods treated acne to some degree, the salicylic acid didn't do nearly as good of a job and also left the participants with harsh side effects of skin sensitivity. RLT was significantly more effective due to it's anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. It also proves to be much more reliable and with little to no side effects while improving the overall health of your skin. [5]
Reduction in Scars/Stretch Marks (Hypertrophic Scars and Keloids)
Scars are never fun and when they're from serious injuries, we don't want to let them impact our lives long-term.

The promising news is that Near-Infrared Light Therapy has actually shown significant evidence in reducing the width, size, and pain of Hypertrophic Scars and Keloids. [6] There is also studies that have showed promising results with stretch marks, wound healing, and acne scars to reduce the severity of them.

Each study does have the patients use the light for different lengths and frequencies, but we would suggest sticking to using your Apollo for 20-min treatments at 6-12 inches away from the area daily.
Dry Skin (Treat Psoriasis and Eczema)
Dry skin isn't usually serious. In most cases it's caused by factors like hot or cold weather, low moisture in the air, and soaking in hot water.

That being said, it isn't usually something that we strive for our find appealing.

Dry skin can also be a symptom of more serious skin coniditions like psoriasis for example.

In a 2013 study, Red and Near-Infrared Light treatments were proven to remove psoriasis almost completely from the patients after just 4 weeks of daily 20-minute sessions.

Important to note, these patients in the study were chosen due to failed attempts at past treatments from other methods. Just to make it better, the results showed no adverse side effects on any patients. [6]

Red and Near-Infrared treatments help with both dry skin and more serious skin ailments like psoriasis.
Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Wrinkles and fine lines on the face are one of the most visible signs of ageing.

They're caused by the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin – as we age, our bodies can't produce enough collagen to replenish what has been lost, so the skin begins to lose its strength and elasticity over time.

Collagen helps tissues like the skin and tendons to hold together by forming a vast network of fibres. Collagen fibres strengthen the skin, while elastin helps the skin stretch and still return to its original shape.

Red Light Therapy boosts ATP production in the cells, which is the energy currency of our bodies - promoting the production of collagen production which in turn helps with your fine lines and wrinkles.
Combats UV Damage from the Sun (All you tanning addicts...)
I know some of you ladies could go all year tanning if life permitted, and although we all love a golden tanned bod, it can take a toll on our skin when over done.

UV damage can have a serious impact such as collagen breakdown, formation of free radicals, inhibition of DNA repair, and inhibition of the immune system. [9]

By using Red and Near-Infrared Light therapy before tanning or long sun exposure studies are suggesting our bodies can actually become resistant to the potential damages UV can cause. [10] Better put, we can train our bodies to better defend against the negative-effects of the sun simply using RLT.
Control and Reduce Cold Sores (Herpes Virus Lesions)
Who else hates cold sores? 🙋‍♀️ They come at the worst times and can get pretty painful.

Red Light Therapy to the rescue again! It's now being suggested as a natural alternative to controlling cold sores by reducing the severity of them and decreasing the frequency in which they show up.

It did such a good job, some patients in the study saw remission of cold sores for up to 125% longer before returning again. [6] Simply put, if you get cold sores once a month, using RLT could possibly make it so you only get them once every 2 or 3 months instead...
Skin Burns
Now hopefully most of you don't have any burns going on but there is some pretty wonderful evidence on the healing power of RLT for burns.

The study done back in 2005 took 9 patients with recent burns and treated their burns daily for only one week. The results, healed burns 50% faster. [7]
The Bottom Line

The evidence is clear. Red Light Therapy is taking over as the go-to solution for healing, rejuvenating, and protecting your skin.

With little to no side effects across all use cases we've explored in this article, it's no wonder thousands are turning to RLT.

It is a truly natural cure for many common skin conditions and ailments.
